What the app does with your location

Rhumb Instruments reads your device's location to show course over ground, speed over ground, and average speed. All of this is computed on your device. While an average speed session is running, the app keeps updating in the background so the averages stay complete; it stops when you tap Stop, and that processing also happens on your device.

What leaves your device

Your position, course, speed, and averages stay on the device and are gone when you delete the app. The app sends them nowhere. It connects to the internet only to check and make the Instruments Premium purchase with Apple's App Store or Google Play. On Android, the Google Play billing library that handles the purchase can also send its own diagnostics to Google, under Google's privacy policy.

Accounts and analytics

Rhumb Instruments has no accounts and no analytics.

Purchases

Rhumb Instruments is free to download. Instruments Premium is bought through Apple's App Store or Google Play. The store processes the payment under its own privacy policy; we receive no payment details and no identity data. The app only remembers on the phone that the purchase was made.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date.
